  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Hourly ASL exec format error

Edi Duluman

Basic Pleskian
Hello!

After the microupdate #43 if I recall correctly, I started receiving these hourly mails from the server, as follows.

Code:
/etc/cron.hourly/asl:
run-parts: failed to exec /etc/cron.hourly/asl: Exec format error
run-parts: /etc/cron.hourly/asl exited with return code 1

Few hours after the update has taken place, I stormed here and found this thread
This would be the answer I have tried.

I found an old config file under
/var/asl/rbc/etc/asl/config

with a timestamp from this night .... ( Name is config.1470869110)
in this Directory are 2 files, the newer one has
CONFIGURED="yes"

in it, so I copied this one over to /etc/asl/config

called /etc/cron.daily/asl

no Errors ....

The error code before trying this answer was 127 if I recall correctly. Then, the error code switched to 1, and it was here to stay.

Today, I have tried some other solution from the same thread, as follows:

This line
/var/asl/bin/update_config.pl > /etc/asl/config
should generate the missing File

Now, I've ran cd / && run-parts /etc/cron.hourly and the same error returns.

Upon reading further I've found out it has something to do with the aum package.
Checked up my version which was 4.0.19-38 or 39, upgraded it to 4.0.19-40 and unfortunately, outcome is the same.

Note that I'm on Debian 8.5, #45 microupdate. Fun thing is that I have two servers, running the same exact setup with Plesk Web HOST on Debian 8.5, at Hetzner. Only one of them started giving these errors.

I'm tired of receiving these mails now, so I'm asking here, what to do.
