How access mysql and secure folder from sub domain

anyone know how to achieve this?

don't understand why this is not a straight forward thing.

I've created a mysql db via the main domain but can't access it via "localhost" from the subdomain.

also created a secure folder via main domain (cause you can't for sub domain) but can't access that via subdomain, not secure anyway, have to do this manually via .htaccess files?
