Resolved How can I configure the passive ports that PROFTPD uses to make the external backups?

Hello everyone,

We are making the PLESK backups to a NAS via FTP. The configured passive port range of the NAS is not the standard one.

How can we configure the passive FTP ports that the Backup Manager uses while connecting to the external backup resource and making backups via FTP?

We are on Ubtuntu 14.

We have found the solution. We just have to apply step two of "How to configure passive ports range for ProFTPd on a server behind a firewall?":

Passive ports can be defined in

/etc/proftpd.d/55-passive-ports.conf

file:

<Global>
...
...
PassivePorts 49152 65535
</Global>

What we haven't found is how to restart PROFTPD. Maybe somebody can help us to find the command to restart PROFTPD.

It seems that there is no need to restart PROFTPD after editing the

/etc/proftpd.d/55-passive-ports.conf

file.

We are making the PLESK backups to a NAS via FTP. The configured passive port range of the NAS is not the standard one.

When FTP-client switches to passive FTP, FTP-server suggest what concrete port to use. In such case, you don't need to configure anything in Plesk's ProFTPd.
