Question How do i change the permissions of the user with role owner?

Linulex

Silver Pleskian
Server operating system version
almalinux 8.10
Plesk version and microupdate number
Version 18.0.65 Update #1
I would like to change the permissions of the user with the role "owner" at a subscription. Or any other disabled user role for that mather.

I have searched everywhere and found

But when i follow this i don't get to a page where i can change the permissions. I am logged in as admin.

When i use the "edit" link next to owner, as stated in the support article.
ownerrole1.jpg

I get this page

ownerrole2.jpg

I can not change the permissions. Any one know how to change them? There are a few options that i need to disable.

regards
Jan

By default the Owner role is granted all permissions, which are fixed (noneditable) via Plesk. However, as a workaround, you can change permissions for any role in the smb_roleGeneralPermissions table of the PSA database. I am not sure if there are any implications modifying permissions directly in the database, so proceed with caution.

Thank you, i will try that.

On our servers reseller don't have permissions to create backups, in fact nobody has. We make backups and restore them as a free service. This is to avoid dozens of people all running backups at the same time and slowing down the server.

When moving a user from one reseller to another it always give the error that the receiving reseller doesn't have backup permissions, but the user does have backup permissions.

To be honest: its a bit weird that a client will always have permissions that can be refused to the owner of that client. In my case a reseller. If a reseller doesn't have a specific permission it should be impossible to give that permission to an account that resides under that reseller.

Regards
Jan
