how do multiple nameservers work?

Plesk is running on one of my server. If I install another package on the second server? I will have two name servers, ns1 and ns2. How does it work if I create a domain and host by these two name servers?

If server 1 down, will all the current data of that domain on my server 1 move to server 2?


Please explain?
