Issue How to configure a new webmail in Plesk?

Émerson Felinto

Regular Pleskian
I set up Rainloop in this domain (email.velocity.host). The connection works normally and I tried to add it in the interface that plesk makes available to me (see print). But it just does not work. When I try to access a domain only the default Plesk page appears (http://webmail.nt4gbi.com/)

How do I solve this?

Try using the Plesk repair utility to regenerate the configuration files for the domain.

# plesk repair web example.com

What linux distro is this?

Assuming if you select Roundcube it works without issue?

Hello,
check if there is an index.html file in your rainloop root folder and remove it if it exist.

I haven't actually used this feature, but I'm seeing the same results you are. Is this a bug? I do notice it's updating the link for the icon to access webmail that's next to each email address in the Plesk GUI.

There should be a conf file for each domain under; /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/webmails

When using a custom webmail selection, there doesn't appear to be one. You can add it using the additional directives option in Plesk.

Go under the "Apache & nginx Settings" for the domain, and under Additional directives for HTTP put the following;

ServerName webmail.nt4gbi.com
Redirect permanent / https://email.velocidade.host/

Still not sure if bug, or this is how it's intended to function.

Yes I want.

I thought of replacing the roundcube files as well, but because they are official Plesk in a next update these files can be removed / changed.

Hello.

The setup worked, however in some specific domains it did not work, including nt4gbi.com.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Are the domains that did not work set on the custom webmail entry you added in Plesk? You may want to set those all to Roundcube, and then reconfigure all again.

I thought exactly that. The only thing they had in them different was that they were configured to use the "Yahoo" configuration (see print at the beginning of the thread) and not "roundcube". So I switched everyone to "roundcube" and it looks like nothing has changed. I ran the command to generate the files again (/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/ httpdmng --reconfigure-all) but it still did not work.

Try suspending and then unsuspending the domain.... I know this sounds crazy, but try it if you can.

Well yea, but I've seen some weird stuff get fixed with the suspend/unsuspend method versus restarting Apache.... don't ask me why though. LOL
