  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

How to remove SWSOFT advertising?

plesk 8.1.1

There's a big thread about this on the Linux forum and most the comments I suspect are also applicable to the Windows version, but I note there is a check box to disable the News feed in Server > Interface Management > Preferences (this one really annoys me), but it doesn't disable it at all!

Any thoughts?

No one..

The News box is disabled but it doesn't switch the news off!

I think there's two different notions of news feed here. I'm running 8.4 for Windows which comes w/ Horde IMP 4.1.6. There's a "what's new with Plesk" news on the client level page after the client logs in, which is the first news feed I wanted to disable. There's also what looks like RSS newsfeeds of actual world news events in Horde IMP webmail, which at first glance seems kind of spam-ish and I don't need my customers seeing either that or the Plesk news at client login.

I think the CSS solution discussed in other threads is for removing the client login page news, while the checkbox you're asking about in this thread (Server -> Interface Mgmt -> Interface Templates -> Preferences -> check Hide News Feeds) is what disables the RSS news in Horde Webmail. Try unchecking it (to leave news on) and logging into one of your webmail accounts, navigate around, see if you see any news feeds, logout etc. If you do, go back and check the Hide News Feeds option to see if this makes it go away.

The Plesk client login page news I haven't figured out yet--I think its the CSS trick though.
