• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Https solution for a domain with 180 domain alias

Erwan

Regular Pleskian
Hi all,

We have a primary domain that has 180 domain alias.
All must point to the same content...

Do you know a solution to switch the website and all aliases to https?
Two years ago, we tried with Let's encrypt but there was a limit on the number of aliases (50 I think).

Thanks a lot for your ideas....

Erwan

Let's Encrypt has a limit of 100 domains in a single SAN certificate, so it can't be used.

We haven't had such a case before so I didn't do the research, but here are some ideas and some things to look into:
- using several certificates for the same server might be a solution, this will require a custom setup
- having a large number of domains in a single certificate affects performance
- some clients can have issues with certificates with a large number of domains.

Do research alternative certificate providers as some might be offering more than 100 domains in a single certificate. Although, perhaps some alternative route might have decisive advantages in terms of performance and reliability.
