• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Issue I don't get any system emails

18.0.56 #4
Hello,
I have 3 servers with Plesk. One quite old and two newer ones.
For example, on the old one I receive emails about updates, problems and other system emails.
I don't get anything on the two new ones.
In my opinion, I have compared everything and it is the same.
I can't find a way to send such an email manually to check what the problem is.

I can send and receive other emails from the servers via existing mailboxes without any problems.

I'm really at a loss.

Are the mails placed into the mail queue, e.g. do they show up in /var/log/maillog? Or are no such mails found in the log?

The mail queue is empty. So nothing got stuck there.
If I take a look at the outgoing mail control, I can assume that the weekly mail was attempted to be sent on November 11th, 2023 at around 1 a.m.

The maillog is so large from various login attempts. Probably the curse of a V-Server.
If I don't know exactly what to look for, it's probably like looking for a needle in a haystack.

In /var/log/maillog you could look for the recipient address. You can use "grep" to only show the entries where that string is included.

Ah thx.
I found some strange entries between 1 and 2 o'clock. This looks like the email from the system.

Unfortunately, I can't figure it out. I just find the gmail addresses strange. Where could they be stored in a config?
I changed the names of the two gmail addresses before posting them here. I also replaced my domain with “mydomain.de”. I also changed the server name. Otherwise I haven't changed anything.

I think I cannot be of any help here, because I do not know what sender or recipient addresses you have set in your Plesk for Plesk notifications. Th SRS0 lines rather indicate that an autoresponder or mail forwarding list is involved, so maybe the lines shown are not the right ones.

Maybe in this case, it would be better to ask Plesk support for assistance, so that they can look into your server. They'll surely be able to identify an issue, if there is any, and solve it. https://support.plesk.com
