  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Install / upgrade fails

we found on one of our upgrades the upgrade tried to install apache 8.1.2 instead of looking for a component for 8.2

It just constantly looked for it.

we ended up choosing ignore and the upgrade completed

and then it all went pear shaped

IIs was screwed with huge page file faults, mail enable broke, and plesk was a complete dog.

5 long around the clock days later after a complete rebuild of mail enable and IIs from scratch and a lot of readjustment of permissions etc the server finally is stable

for a professional and expensive program the upgrade process is horrendous...

beware

HelloSergius

I have got the same error.
key +1 is correct

+2 is not in there.. could this be the error?

I find the following in the eventlog:

Product: Apache HTTP Server 2.0.52 -- Error 1731.The source installation package for the product Apache HTTP Server 2.0.52 is out of sync with the client package. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'plesk_8.2.0_build070705.17.msi'.

Thanks for your help

Hello Everyone,

Plesk during upgrade 8.1.1 -> 8.2.0 do upgrading of Apache 2.0.52 -> 2.0.59 . This upgrade implemented as major upgrade because ProductCode of Apache was changed. This way provide removing of previous Apache version, and then install new. In some cases (which undefined unfortunately) removing of old Apache initiate ResolveSource operation, which shouldn’t be. And it fails because it happens in installation context, which already was chanched.

This issue could be fixed with adding to apache its own source path, and apache won’t ask it from Plesk. It was done with following actions:
Copy registry key and values and subkeys from
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\62CD591E4B6A31E48B9E6DB13499D7DD\SourceList

to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\E8DC367B72BFB714DB24746C6A074784\SourceList

And then change value

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\E8DC367B72BFB714DB24746C6A074784\SourceList|PackageName := Apache.msi

Does the fix is applicable for servers running apache or it will work on servers running IIS. Does the fix worked for anyone???

Hello everyone

I still have same problem with upgrade.

The file 'C:\Program files\SWoft\install\070705.17\plesk_8.2.0_build070705.17.msi is not a valid installation package for the product Plesk 7.5 for Microsoft Windows. Try to find the installation package 'plesk_8.2.0_build070705.17.msi' in a folder from which you can install Plesk 8.1 for Microsoft Windows.

I try almost everything what you sugest. I Only didnt remove dotnetnuke.
How to remove dotnetnuke installation?

I get the same error but i don't have Apache running on my Windows server ?

When i cancel, it tells me a newer version was found ?

Hi, emferh

I see you have trouble in your registry, in the section of PleskAgent product. Which is exluded from modern Plesk. But it still exist in your system for some reason.

You may try to fix registry value:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\EA8023C569FE2D141ADAE9B79C2EF3C0\SourceList]
""PackageName"="Expand.msi"
and try to upgrade again.

having excatly same issue on a product server

SWaoft administrator: can some provide step by step checklist and fix list for this or we shall just press cancel and proceed for upgrade?
