  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Installation & deployment strategy

New Pleskian
Really the question boils down to... do I install Plesk on each server in my hosting environment? Or is it centralized with agents? I have a single server that handles primary DNS... so I need a license just for that server and does plesk need to be installed on that server directly? That kind of licensing would make me want to create larger VMs and share services versus having the flexibility to have multiple VMs dedicated to their own service (dns, stats, mail, web, control panel, etc). Sad that I couldn't find a guide for this.. didn't see a deployment guide, or install strategy. Any resources?

First of all I suggest you read more about difference between Plesk and Plesk Automation Odin products on our site. It will give you right direction for deployment strategy.

Geesh. You know, for a company that is trying to sell a product you don't make it easy. I can't find any pre-sales contact info, it takes 7 days to get a response here to what I thought was a basic question. I know what product I want, but I can't find any pre-install documentation on environmental configuration. I was considering Plesk over WebsitePanel because, you know, paid and whatnot ... figured I'd get some decent support. Quite disappointing that for what seems like such a large company this is the kind of response I get.
