Installing newer versions separately without Plesk 'knowing'

Hi

I've see 2 threads here and here asking questions regarding PHP5 and MySQL5 installation on Plesk 7.5.4 without affecting the latter which exactly what I want.

Regarding MyQL5, is not possible to install MySQL5 as a separate database on a different port ? This way it wont break Plesk's compatibility - infact it doesnt even need to 'know' ! Our script should still be able to connect to the database.

Similarly for PHP5, keeping PHP4 for Plesk. We could use htaccess to use PHP5 instead of the default PHP4.

Theres no reselling here - just a couple of websites on a dedicated server having Plesk 7.5.4 Reloaded.

Thanks
