IPTables Slows Machine - Not Plesk Issue

Hi All,

Looking for some help with iptables. After months of running just fine we come in to see our server is unresponsive, lots of timeouts but sort of halfway working. Power cycled and were able to connect with ssh. Found that everything started timing out eventually.

Issue is that when iptables is started machine slows to a crawl within 5 minutes, websites don't work, no -email connections. Stop iptables and everything hums along just fine. Can't seem to figure out where the problem is. Any tips?

Found the problem, we had some previously working code in the firewall script that was blocking syn attacks. We removed the offending code and it seems to have corrected the problem.
