Is a CSR tied to an IP address?

Hi all,

I need to order an SSL cert for a client, but we haven't switched them to a standalone IP yet - We need to coordinate with them before making the switch. However, I'd like to order an SSL cert ahead of time, and set it up after they are switched to their new IP. I was just wondering if I can generate a CSR now from the domain's shared IP and use the cert later? Thanks.

Generating a cert does not require you to specify an IP, so you should have no problem getting a cert now and assigning it to the IP/domain later.
