Issues with Apache and KeepAlive and MaxClients

Hi all,

I'm having problems on a server with the KeepAlive function.
If I turn it on the site runs very slowly, if I turn it off Apache crashes frequently.

Contents of Error log and Apache.conf attached, I'd be grateful for any ideas on how to resolve.
