  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Joomla 1.5.1 Permissions Problem

Hi,

I am new to using Linux and hope someone can help me solve the following problem.

I have Jooma! 1.5.1 installed on a VPS running Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (Drake), Plesk 8.3 and have successfully updated to Apache2 and PHP 5.1.2.

I wish to avoid chmod 0777 to enable Joomla! installs as outlined at:

http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=267&t=210179&p=983626&hilit=proper+permissions+how+do+i+set+proper+permissions&sid=cc579673d0d489332a2e8d9c7556bea2#p983626

Is this solution compatable with Plesk? and if yes how do I set it up correctly?
Or is there a better alternative.

Thanks in advance, DM.

Hi lvalics,

I attempted to install suexec and even purchased powertools but I'm new to Linux/Ubuntu and screwed something up and had to restore the VPS...

DM.

should not scew up suexec nothing and Power Toys for sure is clean. Probably you have done something wrong. You can ask for help here or you can also hire us to help you. Anyway, indeed on Ubuntu is not so easy as on Fedora to install mod_suphp.

Sorry I wasn't knocking Power Tools, I definatly made a mistake, ;) unfortunately I can't afford to hire anyone to fix this, so I'm on my own. DM.
