TITLE:
Joomla 3.5.7 from the apps repository throws error upon installation while 3.5.6 installation works
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:Different OS (Debian/CentOS), Plesk 17.x, latest MU
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:When installing Joomla in its latest version 3.5.7 from the apps repository, the installation halts with a PHP error.
"Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get() on null in /var/www/vhosts/<domain.tld>/...../session/handler/joomla.php:71"
See thread
Issue - Can't install CMS on Domain
for more details.
The user describing it in the thread is on 17.0/Debian 8.7. We have seen the same behavior on 17.0/CentOS 7.2. I could reproduce it there several times. I could not reproduce it on a 17.5/CentOS 7.3 test machine.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:"Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get() on null in /var/www/vhosts/<domain.tld>/...../session/handler/joomla.php:71"

Run Joomla 3.5.7 installation from the apps repository.
ACTUAL RESULT:Error during installation.
EXPECTED RESULT:Installation works.
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:A workaround is to first install Joomla 3.5.6 from the apps repository and then use the Plesk built-in "upgrade" function for Joomla to upgrade to 3.5.7. The upgrade works perfectly. It is only the initial installation from the apps repository that fails.
