• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

Question Log: Kernel messages [0] [TTM] Buffer eviction failed -- Is this an issue and does this need resolving?

MHC_1

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
alma linux 9.7
Plesk version and microupdate number
Obsidian 18.0.77
Plesk Logs shows the following errors on a daily basis:

2026-04-21 08:49:28errkernel
Kernel messages [0]
[TTM] Buffer eviction failed

There are various online resources for identifying this error (probable graphics error) so really, is this a) worth fixing on Plesk, as the system appears to display graphics ok regardless, and b) if so, is there a straight forward way of fixing this in the Plesk context?

Cheers

I assume you're on a virtual server? If that's the case, only your provider can solve this for you, as it's an issue that needs be solved at the node configuration.

The issue doesn't affect Plesk or the websites you host. But it can negatively impact your (virtual) server usage. As this issue will cause a server to freeze after a restart (because of a loading issue with graphic driver), requiring a power cycle reboot to actually restart the server again. Which is annoying, because if your server ever has a kernel panic or other instability issue that triggers the server to reboot itself, you're pretty much up the creek without a paddle.

For what it's worth, I have the same issue on multiple virtual servers running with IONOS and despite their own suggestion and promise to change display driver they never did. Leaving the issue unresolved (I have an ticket open for the same issue at IONOS for well over six month now).

@Kaspar Thank you for this explainer. Yes we're also with a sub-company of IONOS. Since our hosting provider (Fasthosts) got taken over by IONOS a couple years ago, our servers are now often on blacklists due to being adjacent IPs to IONOS servers that send out spams. Very annoying. (I'm just having a moan, it's not an issue in itself here and now!)
