Hi guys,
I've had this problem before, and it seems to come up periodically, and I don't know what I can do to fix it/troubleshoot it when it happens.
Randomly (?) messages will start to accumulate in the queue. I just checked recently and there were about 3,000 messages. About 2,900 of those were "failure notices".
NEW messages added to the queue (for example, when a PHP script generates an e-mail) would just sit there.
I deleted all of the failure notices from the queue, and had about 150 messages. They still would sit there. I tried restarting SMTP/Qmail, rebooting the machine, nothing.
Then, randomly, the messages start to go out.
I looked in the log, but I can't really tell what is causing it to get stuck (if its noted there).
Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter.
