We had some issues with mails from <MAILER-DAEMON>.
These mails normally come in as receipt, autoresponder und by undeliverable mails.
We were able to change the senderaddress to a valid emailaddress for receipts and autoresponders, but if mails are undeliverable, we still get mails with return-path <MAILER-DAEMON> in the mailheader.
This is no problem to standard users but the Microsoft Exchange POP Connector throws an error on such messages.
