Mails still on server after deleting mailboxes

New Pleskian
Hi community!

I recently created several mail accounts with Plesk 12.5 on our server. Afterwards I was told that some of them don't need a real mailbox. They only should forward to an existing (external) mail adress. So I removed the mailbox checkbox in the admin frontend and no it says "No mailbox" in the overview table.

The problem is that the mailboxes still exist on the server. I can find them under /var/qmail/mailnames/mydomain.tld/name

How can I safely remove those files?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Kind regards,
Thomas

Hi IgorG,

thanks for you answer! This command deletes the entire account... I want to keep the configuration (mail forwarding to external adress) und just to delete the files of the mailbox on the server.

Is it safe to just empty the folders in /var/qmail/mailnames/mydomain.tld/name?

Thanks,
Thomas
