Hi,

what is the difference between this setting on the IP address property page?

IP type:
- Shared
- Exclusive

default an IP address is set to "Exclusive"

thanks

The difference is quit simple. If you use a shared IP address then you can use this ip for multiple domains. That's ok for the most cases. But sometimes you need a exclusive IP, what means that only one domain can use this IP. You can use exclusive IP addresses for example if you bought a SSL cert because the relevant domain needs an own IP address.

Greets and best regards,
Dawn

hehe,
OK thats a simple one...

will say that, if my default IP address is used for the name server and is "exclusive", I can't use this IP for other domain names right?

Yepp, exactly :) My setup is as following:

The IP address I use for plesk is a shared one. All domains which don't need a own IP have this IP adress. Domains with SSL certs have exlusive IP adresses...
