  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Mapping IP addresses on a server migration

vikvaliant

New Pleskian
Can someone, anyone, explain in detail the process of mapping IPs on a new server migration? The documentation is kind of sketchy and seems to refer to a migration where the migration manager actually works.

Some examples would be great. Thanks.

I used the details at http://forum.parallels.com/showpost.php?p=357878&postcount=10

Here are the exact details of what I tried.

http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=88629

It worked in the sense that it produced map files that I could edit the IPs.
It didn't work in the sense that the restore said that the dump was corrupt.

Since then, I've trashed PLESK 9 and installed PLESK 8.6. Migration from PLESK 7.5.4 seemed to work very easily through the PLESK GUI [no messy undocumented CLI]. I haven't discovered any problems so far.

Thanks. I think I may have made some headway using the full backup/restore solution. If all goes well I'll post a step-by-step under the "Huge Rant - Plesk Backup and Restore"
