MAPS zones -> Mail slower

Hi,

I’ve enabled the MAPS zones with only one zone (sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org), but now it takes much more time to send an email.
It’s not possible to have MAPS zones enabled and the mail still working fast?

mail will slow down if you use MAPS. The sender has to be checked on a remote server. If the connection is slow or that server is busy it will take a few secs to get a reply.

and if I use a Black List, it will be faster?
Is there any site where I can get Black Lists?

black lists are local and should be faster. I don't know about blacklist sites, they have MAPS for these kind of lists cos the lists are quite dynamic. The blacklist is more your personal static list.

We have removed all MAPS sites and enabled the URLDB-checks in Spamassassin. This way the mails are marked as spam and thrown away.

i've disabled MAPS zones from plesk but the server continues slower sending emails....
