Merak mail server 9.1 error

For a couple of months we are running Plesk 8.2 with Merak mail server 9.1 without any problems but since two weeks we encountered the following problem while creating a new mailadress in Plesk:

Error: Unable to update the mail name properties:mailmng failed: Catastrophic failure (COM Error 8000FFFF, Description: Catastrophic failure) at execute console command --add-mailname

The event log shows the following entry:

Catastrophic failure (COM Error 8000FFFF, Description: Catastrophic failure) at execute console command --add-mailname
at (vconsoleapp::start line 128)
at execute "D:\Plesk\admin\bin\mailmng.exe" --add-mailname "--domain-name=basique.nl" "--mailname=test"(vconsoleapp::run line 138)
Execute file name: D:\Plesk\admin\bin\mailmng.exe


We also encountered the following error in the event log:

MerakCOM.AccountObject.Save failed for name=info and domain example.nl [example.nl]
at (Merak::MerakMailName::MerakMailName line 30)
at execute console command --add-mailname(vconsoleapp::start line 128)
at execute "D:\Plesk\admin\bin\mailmng.exe" --add-mailname "--domain-name=example.nl" "--mailname=info"(vconsoleapp::run line 138)

We tried reinstalling merak but this did not solve anything.
Are there any other options we can try?
