• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Migrating only mail to a web-only site kills the website

This evening I migrated the mail from a Onyx 17.5.3 site to another Onyx 17.5.3 server on which a website was running for that same domain.

Because I carefully selected mail and mail only I trusted the migration tool to leave the website alone.
After migrating I discovered that the website on the target server was gone....

I'm now trying to restore that from a back-up...
Hopefully that will not kill the mail.

[EDIT]
The restore did not kill the mail, although it did disable it.
Mail was of course disabled when the site was still "website only".
I told it to restore the site (not the mail).

Please respond....!!
Migration of "mail only" should NOT mess with the website nor the other way around.
It's not something one expects if you are given those options.

The main reason: when you selecting what content must be transferred it doesn`t mean that hosting settings will not be restored.
