  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Migration error ssh key

ford

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.58
Hi,
Target server has root and password, source server has ssh key.
When I want to migrate from the source server I get the following error.
I've already tried solution 2, but it doesn't work.
How can I switch from ssh key to password authentication?
Both servers are running 18.0.58 and Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

For that, you need on source server to update the settings on the /etc/ssh/sshd_config
Change there "PasswordAuthentication no" to "PasswordAuthentication yes" for example.
PermitRootLogin should be yes

to apply it you need also to restart there the service:
service ssh restart

OK, changed everything, works so far.

I have the line in etc/ssh/sshd_config
#permit_root-login the # taken out and
passwordauth changed from no to yes

I also changed the password from no to yes in etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/50-cloud-init.conf.

then
service ssh restart

Now when I log in as root via putty he wants a password with repetition, if I then want to log in as root with the password I get it
access denied.
What can i do ?

greeting
Michael

If "PermitRootLogin yes" is in your file and your root password is not accepted, the password is likely wrong. If the line does not read "PermitRootLogin yes", but something different, it's not configured correctly.

Thanks for the help
After I in
/etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/50-cloud-init.conf
I added that here, it works
PasswordAuthentication yes
PermitRootLogin yes
