  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

New Pleskian
Hi,

i have an old server with SMB 10.2 (on centos 5) and i want to "upgrade" to plesk panel 11.
i will use the Local Migration (reading about this in the documentation).

i used the ./smb-to-plesk-migration.sh to backup the files but i dont understand how to "uprade" the smb to plesk.
can i install the plesk panel over autoinstaller or what i have to do (need help)

Regards

I have the same issue. SMB 10.2 on Linux CentOS 5.9, and I want to upgrade to the latest Panel version on the same server. I´ve read the upgrade/migration guides, and I made a backup of my SMB data with the migration tool. But I don´t see a way to install the Panel on my server. In the documentation it says that you need a "Fresh install" to migrate your data to. But all the autoinstallers, and the manual installers for CentOS and all different Panel versions always get me into the same installer interface (either in the Command Line or in the Browser-based installer), where I don´t see an option to install Panel; it only displays (my currently installed) SMB 10.2 with its options, plus some older installation options.
How do I install the current version of Plesk Panel on a Linux system that has Plesk SMB already installed?

It is impossible. You can migrate from SMB to Plesk but not upgrade SMB to Plesk.

Okay, but in the Installation/Migration manual, there is a point about migrating from SMB to Plesk Panel on the same server (local migration). There it says that you need to do a backup of your configuration (with the SMB to Panel migration tool), and that you then need to restore the config from the migration tool. Unfortunately it is missing the info about how you get the SMB removed (if you need to???) and the Panel installed to actually restore the configuration. Or what are the steps to do a local migration?
