Question Move / Install Database on different Disk / Partition

Or is it the best to simply move the data to the new partition ?
Does it need more then that?

systemctl stop mysqld
rsync -av /var/lib/mysql/ /ssd/mysql/
mv /var/lib/mysql /var/lib/mysql_backup

Open /etc/my.cnf
datadir=/home/mysql
socket=/home/mysql/server.sock

systemctl start mysqld

As a possible solution, you can just consider mounting a partition from SSD disk to the default MySQL data directory location /var/lib/mysql/

Hi Igor,

thank you for your fast feeback.
But the solution above might be also fine, or does it not suit Plesk best practice? Is there any KB for best practice?

Greetings, I know I'm late to this party, but setup separate disks for each Web, Mail and Database. I mount the disks in the respective default directory. I feel like this allows me to have what I want (separate, and sometimes large, disks for my user data) while not risking issues arising from custom configurations.
