Moved mysql location / default socket ini files

hi,

I want to change the location of the database files on the server. where can I change default location of the socket used in the php.ini files /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. If I change this in the global /etc/php.ini this take no effect for example in the /opt/plesk/php/5.6/etc/php.ini?
