MTA don't restart after upgrade

I have upgraded Plesk for windows 7.6.1 to 8.1, after that i have had same permission issue but very simple to solve, one for all c:/windows/temp must be user writable.
The big problem is that MTA of mailenable don't start, it start but after a second it stop to work, the problem is the queue, if i delete all message in it mta will start and when arrive one message it stop again, if i start it with queue full of messages it stop immediatly.
Any idea?

What I did is:(just a possible solution)
It is running MailEnable 1.8 before upgrade.

I have it upgraded to MailEnable standard 1.96. After reboot, MailEnable MTA works again.

How to upgrade Mailenable?
1. Please download the latest version from http://www.mailenable.com/mailenablestandard.exe

2. Make a copy of all files in the folder "config".

3. Run the installer.

4. Reboot.

Same problem still not working

I've had the same issue with my mail enable, the que filling up and MTA stop. I also installed the new version of mailenable as per support's instuctions. This still did not fix the problems. Of course customer support wont answer me now and is trying to sell me a support package.

My question for you guys that have it working is:

What file is in your MTA pickup event. Mine was originally aimed at memailfilter.exe (I think) and now it is pointing to FILTER.BAT The problem is FILTER.BAT doesn't exist in the location it is looking or anywhere else in the plesk folder.

Do you guys have a different reference in your MTA or do you have the file FILTER.BAT?

I am having the same problem (after upgrading to 8 from 7.5.6). MTA was working before I rebooted, but after the reboot I am getting a Application fault in windows

Anyone seen that / or have a solution? I tried doing a search.
Previous to the upgrade I was running HMailserver as my primary mail server and using MailEnable (on differnat ports) as a smarthost (because of the lack of IMAP support in mailenable). i was going to flop that around but with the above It kinda nic's my plan to do so.

Following the above fixed this issue for me. Hopefully someone can tell something from the logs and fix it in the install?

This was what plesk support had me do:

It looks like mailserver is not correctly installed Please perform following steps (if you use mailEnable)
1. Download version 1.98 from www.mailenable.com, backup MailEnable\Config folder
2. Run setup - follow default settings in setup wizard -- all settings and data will be retained
3. Reboot server after install
4. Run following command cmd cd %plesk_bin% mchk --all --fix=all (Please note that command will remove all custom configuration frommailenable -- e.g manually configured domains, and rewrite all configuration according to Plesk database)

Followed instructions to the T twice (went to backup after first fail to make sure nothing was missed). Still same problem. I've tried everything I can think on this one and just can't fix it.

Of course plesk support has cut me off becuase they obviously can't figure it out.

I am leaving plesk this month becuase I can't continue loosing customers. Too bad, because I really had high hopes this last year that swsoft would get their act together, but this wasn't the case and doesn't seem like it will change any time soon. SWSOFT JUST DOESN'T CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THIER CUSTOMERS! And no one here can argue that.

A few days ago I updated Plesk on two servers from version 7.6.1 to 8.1.0. On one server the same problem occured (MailEnable MTA fails). When I followed the steps discribed by DUKom2, the problem was solved.

That post is so old and your asking me about my support number? First, I don't remember. Second, I've given up and I am only keeping plesk on one server for little < 100 clients that really want plesk. My other machines have other software, no need to plug the app here.

I have found the help to be unsatisfactory to say the least from swsoft and have fixed most the problems that have popped up on my own or with the community here through workarrounds and whatnot. Plesk could be a great product if it had the few things that are missing attended to. For one thing a support system that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to fix a broken piece of code would be nice, with competent people that were friendly and honest. It is better to just say you have no idea how to fix something than to cut off conversation with the customer and remind me of the paid help plans. That is always what has happened with customer support with SWSoft every time I've had a problem. When the problem is to difficult they bail out.

For the most part the issues with plesk seem to be the lack of understanding of windows security systems and how they work. I wont go into detail but 90% of the problems on the forums are permission issues and the like. Some might say that a sys admin should know how to set perms outside of Plesk and that is true, but plesk should play nicer with settings changed outside of the software and recognize those changes.

Anyway, too much time for me to spend on a rant, just though that was some gall to ask about my support issue months after the post. We know you don't care about our issues, so stop pretending. Just please get back to work and hire some .NET pros to handle the windows plesk app dev.
