Multiple Domains Manually

Hi,

I currently have plesk installed on my virtual server, and it has worked flawlessly for my main site. I now need to add a second seperate domain to the server. I am only able to add one domain in my control panel due to the licence. So i need to add the second domain manually via ssh.

Im ok with linux and ssh etc, but im getting confused as to where to add my information re the virtual hosts for the second domain. I currently have....

/var/www/vhosts/main-site/.... and in there is the .conf files for plesk and the virtual hosts. I read that i needed to make a vhost.conf file and add the second domain details in there. Is this correct?

I also found in /etc/httpd/conf/.... the httpd.include file, i also tried to add the information there, but to no avail, so im getting quite confused.

Im running cent OS 5.5, and essentially would like to know which files to amend/edit in order to add a second domain to my virtual server. The DNS is working, and when i type in the new site name, it sends me to my original site. So im sure its just a case of adding the correct virtualhost information to the rite file.

Please ask for any more info, and i look forward to your help.

Cheers.

EDIT: I found a guide, that went through the steps of creating a new httpd.include file in the new domain "conf" location. As well as editing the main conf files in /etc/httpd to include this new file. Im still working on it to see if it works.

EDIT 2: Still not working, second site still resolves to the first one.

Just bumping this to see if anyone has any ideas. Essentially i need the steps to add another domain manually, when i can not add one through plesk.

Having plesk on the server slightly complicates the files that need amending, and im looking for the advice to resolve this. Many thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But as i mentioned in the post, my plesk panel only has one domain licence, so i cannot add any more via the panel. Any further domains need to be done manually in centOS/Apache.

Cheers.
