Since i update two of our server to 10.2.0 version some emails destinators produces a 5.4.4. error
<****@famag.pt>:
Sorry, I couldn't find a mail exchanger or IP address. (#5.4.4)

The nslookup from this server is ok

[root@servidor9 ~]# nslookup -type=mx famag.pt
Server: 127.0.0.1
Address: 127.0.0.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
famag.pt mail exchanger = 10 mail4.suporte.com.pt.

Authoritative answers can be found from:
famag.pt nameserver = a.ns.tuxdns.net.
famag.pt nameserver = b.ns.tuxdns.net.
a.ns.tuxdns.net internet address = 194.88.142.3
b.ns.tuxdns.net internet address = 194.88.143.3

and connection with mx records is ok

[root@servidor9 ~]# telnet mail4.suporte.com.pt 25
Trying 82.102.13.242...
Connected to mail4.suporte.com.pt (82.102.13.242).
Escape character is '^]'.
220 mail4.suporte.com.pt

Aditionally when i did the upgrade and if update dns zones with dnsmgr i obtain very rare error from "escape codes":

I need and urgent solution.

Sincerely, since parallels buys Plesk the product is going down.

I am having exactly the same error with some domains causing "Sorry, I couldn't find a mail exchanger or IP address. (#5.4.4)" errors from qmail. I suspect these problems started after I upgraded to 10.2. I sure hope Parallels will solve this asap. It is very frustrating to not be able to send emails to some domains. For people running webhosting operations this must be devastating.

Change to postfix from autoinstaller....

Parallels support is......

I'm experiencing the same issue on different domains. Does anyone have a solution already? It started after migrating my domains to Plesk 10.2 on Virtuoso.

As stated in the "readme":

---------------------------------------------------------------
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE
Plesk 10.2.0 running on Virtuoso

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION AND STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Need to update dns SOA records after migration
- run /usr/loca/psa/admin/sbin/dnsmgr update <domain>

ACTUAL RESULT
dnsmgr: ####: invalid IP address
dnsmgr: ####: invalid IP address
dnsmgr: ####: invalid IP address
dnsmgr: ####: invalid IP address

EXPECTED RESULT
An updated DNS record

ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
None as i know of.

Tx,
peter

I have requested developer's assistance regarding this problem. I will update thread with results as soon as I receive it.

How can i update the file.

I untar the file but not run...
[root@servidor9 sbin]# ls -luisa dnsmng*
2482448 12308 -rwxr-x--- 1 root root 12584960 abr 28 17:35 dnsmng
2367500 352 -rwxr-x--- 1 root root 353540 abr 28 17:42 dnsmng_old

the size is too diferent and vi file

@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@results/dist-deb-Debian-5.0-i386/^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@

seems to be a debian compatible file.

Attached custom fix for all Linuxes supported in Plesk 10.2
http://download1.sw-soft.com/Plesk/Autoupdate/dnsmng-10.2.0.tar.gz

Not to be a dick but some instructions would have been nice with this.

Here is what I did

1. Downloaded and extracted your file
2. Renamed "/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/dnsmng" to "/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/dnsmng.orig"
3. Copied the "dnsmng" file from my distros directory from the extracted files to "/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/dnsmng"
4. Rebooted the server

I'm still having the problem. Did I get it right? If not could you tell me how to apply this patch?

I've attached a sample from our maillog.

Update: After some more reading I saw someone say to run "dnsmng update <Domain Name>". I did this. No change. I did not try rebooting after running this command but I did restart qmail.

Also having this problem. Tried the new binary with a qmail restart but no-go. Domain that's throwing the error is eirebloc.com, no apparent DNS problems.

This is affecting my customers emails. The above linked file with 0 instructions did NOT fix anything. Has a solution been found yet?

Developers are working on it. I will inform you with results in this thread.

The temp fix until Plesk fixes it for me was to replace my email server with its ip address in smtproutes.

This is what I did
1. Get to the directory: cd /var/qmail/control/
2. Backup your file: mv smtproutes smtproutes.bak
3. Edit the file I with the editor you use, mine is nano: nano smtproutes
4. Look at what your mailserver is: :Something.mailserver.here
4. Find its ip address and replace it this is a sample not a real ip address, mine had a colon in front it: :55.555.55.5555
5. Save the smtproutes file
6. Restart your dns server
7. Restart your qmail server

hope it helps

Thank you. This worked for us as well.

Glad to hear it. Forgot to mention my servers are Centos 5

I'm having the same problem on a Centos 5 x86_64 with a Plesk 10.2 clean install...

There is no "smtproutes" file on /var/qmail/control/ ?!?!
(I've a "/var/qmail/control/me" and "/var/qmail/control/locals")

Please help...

Meh No clue here. I was just lisitng the steps I took to fix it. I am by no mean means a linux guru. Maybe try searching for the file or if you can't find it create it and drop the ip address in your mail server.

find / -name smtp
