  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

MySQL 4.1 and 5.0 together

I currently have MySQL 5.0 configured and working with my Plesk installation. I am acquiring a domain that used to run on MySQL 4.1, and is currently experiencing problems running on 5.0 (at least thats the only thing left to blame it on). None the less, I am wondering if anyone is running MySQL 4.1 AND 5.0 together so that we can have the best of both worlds. If not, what are my options to run this domain off of 4.1 binaries?

Thanks,
Josh V.

same question here, some client would like to use 4.x instead of 5.x

I was able to actually get this working, by installing plesk and getting it working with the default version 5 of mysql.

Then (details are rather fuzzy) I installed mysql 4 to a different directory, and a different port. it actually runs on port 3307, and v5 runs on 3306. after you get it installed and working, add the new database server in plesk, and just point it to the different port number. everything has been working like a charm since (including mysql admin)-with no noticable conflicts.

Let me know if you run into problems when you go to do it, and i can provide specific details according to my setup.

Since Plesk 8.2 you can use any numbers of mysql server (assuming they using different ports)
You can configure them on Plesk CP-Server-Databases
