MySQL: Error 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) failed

Hi everybody,

I'm using Plesk on centOS with Media Temple, I've contacted their support and they referred me to this forum as it's apparently outside of their realms of support.

I was unable to access Plesk; the error was a white screen (error 500) after login, so I tried a full service restart using this command: /etc/init.d/psa stop; /etc/init.d/psa stopall; /etc/init.d/psa startall; /etc/init.d/psa start

The restart was unsuccessful with this error:
Trying to connect to MySQL... Failed to connect to MySQL: Error 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) failed

Going to the Plesk panel now gives me this error: ERROR: Zend_Db_Adapter_Exception: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) (Abstract.php:144)

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

After following this knowledgebase article (http://kb.odin.com/en/120312), my sites are now all down with SQL related issues.

My Plesk panel now gives me this error:

Additionally, an exception has occurred while trying to report this error: Zend_Db_Adapter_Exception

All my sites are currently down, it would be great if someone could help, I'm getting very stressed. Had to trim some of that log as I went over the 10,000 character limit for a post.
