• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello Everybody,

we have an external DNS-Server and dont know for sure if it is better to turn the named service in plesk 7.5 reloaded off or not!
Can there be DNS conflicts if we leave the service running?

On the other hand if we turn off named the dns resolving for the webalitzer does not work anymore.

Have You any ideas about this topic!

In the control panel, go to "Server" -> "DNS", click the icon to disable the service. Then enter the external nameservers where it says "Add a DNS record"

nameserver

Thanks for your advice. I will test it and hopefully it works :)

Hm, i tested it but still there are only IP's in the webstatistics.

As i have read in the readme file there has to be created a database "dns_cache.db" by the webalizer. I havent found such a db on my system so i think i have to find out why it is not automatically created by plesk.

Must i create it manually or is something misconfigured in my system???

Also i have got the hint from sw-soft support to entry the external nameserver in the /etc/resolve.conf but they have been there all the time. So no solution from them.
