Nameserver fails with new domains

Whenever a new domain is added (for example, abc.nl) , I get this failure in the nameserver:

zone xxxx.com/IN: loaded serial 1347638750
zone abc.nl/IN: has no NS records
zone abc.nl/IN: not loaded due to errors.
_default/abc.nl/IN: bad zone
zone zzzzz.com/IN: loaded serial 1347692284
(etc)

It seems the file is missing and instead there is some weird _default file?

If I go into the control panel and disable DNS service for this domain, and immediately re-enable it, the files above are fixed and "named" starts working.

What should I check?
