  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue .NET Toolkit suddenly stopped working

jorgerucoba

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
CentOS Linux 7.9.2009 (Core)
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian v18.0.57_build1800231218.09 os_CentOS 7
I have the .NET toolkit version 2.1.12-2046 with runtime version 6.0 (6.0.25) installed. I have a list of running applications, all of them suddenly stopped working, I tried restarting them, but I immediately get the error "The specified restart instance not found", without any further details neither logged messages. It is weird because when I try to run the very same application via the terminal command "dotnet ....dll", it works. I also tried to deploy the test application supplied by plesk in a different domain, but the application is never deployed and the same error is thrown when I click on restart.

In our known issues I could only find this for CloudLinux and the CageFS filesystem under certain circumstances, but beyond having seen the bug no workaround is known. But you are on CentOS. For that reason I recommend to submit a support ticket so that an engineer can check this directly on your server.

If you bought your license from a reseller, your reseller should provide support for you. If the reseller does not provide support, here is an alternative:

i have a similar problem on almalinux 9

where Phusion Passenger can't deploy my app with error
21942/Tk age/Cor/App/Implementation.cpp:221: Could not spawn process for application /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxx/xxxxxx: The application process exited prematurely.
Error ID: 434d49b2
Error details saved to: /tmp/passenger-error-XQ4xzP.html
but i still can run it using the dotnet /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxx/xxxxxx command without a problem
even tried the default template project and the same thing

Make sure SELinux is turned off or is tuned properly.
Is there any example or documentation on how SELinux should be tuned to allow .Net Toolkit to function?

Disabling SELinux seems like it comes with some security considerations, so details on how to tune it properly for .Net Toolkit sites would be helpful.
