• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

Question Newby question - are PHP and MySQL pre-requisites for Plesk

Gareth Morgan

New Pleskian
Hi,

Apologies for this question and please let me know if I should ask it somewhere else, but I'm not yet a Plesk user, it's something we're looking at installing.

I've been asked to clarify whether Plesk Onyx needs PHP or MySQL already installed on the server in order to run (or are they just optional things that you can use with it if you want)?

Thanks in advance for your help?

Kind regards,

Gareth Morgan.

No, it is not required. All necessary components will be installed during Plesk installation. But note, that before installing Plesk, you should make sure that the package manager's (apt/yum) repositories are configured and can be accessed from the server.
