• Halloween is coming! To celebrate the occasion, we dusted off a couple of old skins, and even created a brand new one (Pixel).
To get into the festive spirit, install the Skins extension.
  • The new Python extension is now available. It allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.
  • The Plesk Mobile apps for iOS and Android and the Plesk Mobile Center extension have been deprecated, and are no longer available for new installations. In Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84, the Plesk Mobile Center extension will be removed from servers during the upgrade, and the Plesk Mobile apps will lose their server management features.
  • The Social Login extension has been deprecated and will be removed in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84. After that, it will no longer be possible to log in to Plesk with a Google, Facebook, GitHub account, or with a passkey. Plesk usernames and passwords, as well as logging in with a WebPros Account, are not affected.

Question Nginx Directive Using .htpasswd While Blocking Others

tetrahall

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
CentOS 7.6
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81.6
Hi,

I need to add a directive from within Plesk (Additional nginx directive)

The aim is:

1. Allow users to access URIs beginnig with specific words.

2. The word can be "a folder name" or just a word in the path immediately after mydomain.com

3. I need to allow myself to access URIs blocked for others

I have created the file ".htpasswd" containing a generated string (username and password). It is located in "/var/www/vhosts" outside "mydomain.com"

I have sought the help of AI on Google. Ai suggestions kept causing errors and AI kept changing its mind correcting the errors with an apology until I gave up.

The number of words is around 30.

I was told that using "MAP" is the better option.

Please help in writing the directive.

KInd regards.
