  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New Pleskian
Hi there,

I have a Plesk server that doesn't offer the upgrade for Plesk Obsidian.

This is currently what's on the server:
  • OS ‪CentOS Linux 7.2.1511 (Core)‬
  • Product Plesk Onyx
  • Version 17.8.11 Update #66, last updated on Aug 29, 2019 03:42 AM.

Help is much appreciated, thanks in advance, Jan

You are several Plesk Onyx versions behind already, latest Plesk Onyx 17.8 version is Update #78. Also, your OS is severely outdated, you should be on CentOS 7.7

I suggest you do:
  • Take a backup/snapshot of your VM
  • Perform full "yum update" + reboot of your VM, make sure you're on CentOS 7.7 after that.
  • Make sure that "crond" is running (systemctl status crond)
  • Check your Plesk Update settings (Tools & Settings => Update and Upgrade Settings) and make sure you have the following checked:
  • Automatically install Plesk updates (Recommended)
  • Automatically install updates for third-party components shipped by Plesk
  • And under "Release Tier": General release (Recommended)
  • Then go to "Tools & Settings" => Updates and Upgrades" and install the latest Updates for your Plesk Onyx 17.8
  • Finally, you should be able to Upgrade to Obsidian 18.0
