No spaces in <template-name>

I have templates in Plesk for setting up hosting accounts. When I use the API it bombs out when calling a template that has a space in the templates name. I'm using the XML API. I've tried using, &nbsp; , %20 , + , _ , - , etc and am having no luck. Do I really need to change the naming convention or is there another way around this?
