• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Obsidian Upgrade

Basic Pleskian
Hello guys,

we're using Plesk Onyx Version 17.8.11 Update #73 on Debian 9.11.

Plesk offers the upgrade to Obsidian 18.0.21. But the upgrade checker says:

"Plesk pre-upgrade check
WARNING: There are custom web server configuration templates at /opt/psa/admin/conf/templates/custom. These custom templates might be incompatible with a new Plesk version, and this might lead to failure to generate web server configuration files. Please check Apache config file cannot be generated: Wrong variable to subsitute for details."

1. Can we perform the upgrade safely or do we have to do something before?
2. Does the upgrade worth it? In forums we see many things not working for other people or having bugs?

Thanks.
