• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

password problems with email

Hi,
yesterday I tried to upgrade plesk from 7.5 to 8.x.

Not only I couldn't update it (I'll work on that later) but now whenever I create a new mail address the password check fails.

Some points:
-the mailbox is created correctly
-the mail arrives to the mailbox correctly (I can see it from the file system)
-I just can't login with an email client
-For some reason that I can't understand, even forcing some values in /var/qmail/users/poppasswd (for example replicating the hash for an old password) is not working.

Any suggestions?

Andres

PS: not sure of where qmail saves the error log for the wrong logins (any hints?). The installation is quite different from the one in the oreilly qmail book. Nothing strange in /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog
