  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Performance Booster and MariaDB 11.4

seqoi

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
AlmaLinux 9.5
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.65
I just set up a new server on AlmaLinux 9.5. Everything seems to be dandy. Still have not added any customers, so no domains no databases either. I was scouting through some of the settings and noticed this (see my screenshot).

Is this normal behavior? Not a trouble for me, alternatively I'll use MySQLtuner anyway. But was wondering if is this normal behavior or if should I look into it. I analyzed the Obsidian changelog and it says MariaDB 11.4 is fully supported. Usually, if some feature isn't supported then the Plesk mentions it. This made me question whether am I supposed to check my configuration or if this is an upcoming feature. Or perhaps this is because there's no tenants yet?

Yes. You may have missed it, because it's inside a thread that's related to MariaDB, but not specific to MariaDB 11.4.* - It was first mentioned here:

There's no need to look into it as Plesk are well aware of it

Artistic / Poetic License - Depends on what perspective you're looking from

Indeed. This one is conspicuous by it's absence
This made me question whether am I supposed to check my configuration or if this is an upcoming feature. Or perhaps this is because there's no tenants yet?
Nope. We all just need to wait for Plesk to "fully" support MariaDB 11.4.* and it will be fine.

For crying out loud I think I am getting old. How do I change the thread from yellow "issue" to green "resolved"?

@seqoi Forgot to post it and you will no doubt have already noticed and / or utilised this by now, but, as of the 18.0.66 release, the wait is over and Plesk's Performance Booster functionality does support MariaDB 11.4.*

Thanks, I appreciate it. I didn't know, I am still on 18.0.65. The good news while enjoying morning coffee always lands nicely.

Have a great day.

I updated it to 18.0.66 on this server three days ago. In the context of the Performance Booster, this doesn't seem to be resolved. After some unrelated tweaks and a few restarts, I still see this. Is it working on your end? I have 14 domains on this server and 13 of them are running on WordPress (working reaaaaallly nicely). However, I do not see Performance Booster being available for my case for the Database server and MariaDB 11.4.4.

Screenshot attached. What do you see under this area (assuming you are running 11.4.4)?

Yes, a bit misleading... After update to MU#1 it has indeed, reverted back to reporting the non-supported status (server-wide) as per your post above.
We can run the Performance Booster option (if required) on all domains that run MariaDB 11.4.4, but this excludes their individual databases of course.
Close but no cigar etc. Can only assume there was some more subtle config work still required perhaps.
Ironically, as per post #2: We (still) just need to wait for Plesk to "fully" support MariaDB 11.4.* then.

Well it's New Year and we're all happy :p We're using the latest Plesk release, although we're nowhere near the end of Q2 (!!!!!!!) yet... There's still no serverwide support for MariaDB 11.4 in Performance Booster, which at this stage is to be expected in fairness, but now being stated as possibly by the end of Q2 latest surely can't be serious... Plesk already have a lot of (non-specific to Plesk) work to do with MariaDB 11.* (separate threads re: total removal of MySQL references / labels etc) So doesn't all of that combined workload, warrant a much higher profile / much quicker response (which will include this aspect too)?
