  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Personal FTP repository on other port

Steve Vos

New Pleskian
Dear,

Could somebody tell me if it is possible to run a personal ftp repository on other port than the default one (21)?
I've a small FTP server at home where I want my backups to go to, but my isp is blocking ports <1024 so i'm running my ftp server on port 2222.

When I connect with filezilla to the ftp server everything is running fine, but when I enter in plesk my ftp server as ftp.domain.com:2222 and start a backup the backup job fails. In my ftp logs I see a connection and successfull login from plesk but the backup isn't started.

Has somebody experiences with this on how to fix this?

With regards,

STVO

Try putting your home FTP server in the DMZ or port-forwarding any port range used by your FTP server for data connections.

Just a guess, but since you can see Plesk logging in but not moving data...its a port-forward problem. I would guess you only forwarded port 2222.
