I had already tried that, and had to manually re-install the msi package afterwards as even though the package was un-installed, it did not re-appear in the Updates and Upgrade list. It again installed v 5.3.9.
However last night I received an email stating that Plesk was successfully updated by the autoinstaller. It looks like MU#19 was pushed last night and indeed updated PHP to v 5.3.10. I confirmed the version using msiinv, and the fact that the php53.msi file had a new modified date of 2/29/2012.
