PHP 5.6 Certificate Authentication SMTP TLS

I know in PHP 5.6 it has to verify your domains SSL certificate otherwise sending email via SMTP will fail through TLS.

Like this.

My question is, is there some way of being able to point PHP 5.6 to my certificate within Plesk or do I need to get into my servers guts?

I get the feeling... I need to buy a new SSL certificate to cover my SMTP mail address...?
