PHP MySQL connection

I've just upgraded from a previous version of plesk and now my MySQL connection from the PHP application no longer works. The database has been created in Plesk and the correct username is there. This is what I'm using:

$dbhost = "localhost";
$dbuser = "user";
$dbpass="password";
$dbname="database1";

$link = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass);
mysql_select_db($dbname, $link) or die(mysql_error());

Can anyone see a reason why this doesn't work.

Not sure if this helps but after upgrading from Plesk 7.x to Plesk 8.x some of my PHP applications didn't work.

It was because the configuration files in my PHP apps were set to look for files in /home/httpd/vhosts/ which is where websites are hosted in Plesk 7.x

However in Plesk 8.x they are hosted in /var/www/vhosts/

I had to change all references to get my applications working again.

Hope this helps.
