php safe mode

Hi guys, i have a bit of a strange situation.

I installed 2 plesk 10 servers on Ubuntu 10.04.02 LTS x64 machines with nearly identical hardware.

The first one cannot turn php ssafe mode on or off by domain or by server via the control panel. You have to turn it on or off in the php.ini file.

The second one works like a bag of charms.

We cant see any differences in the config between the two.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where i should be looking? Im a linux novice at best.

Figured it out, for some reason the control panel defaulted to using php as a fast-cgi mudual. Put it back to apache and away she goes.
